Privacy policy
Collector Recon is a free newsletter. This page says what we collect when you subscribe and how to leave. Last updated October 12, 2026.
What we collect
When you subscribe, we get your email address and the address of the page you signed up from, including any tracking tag in the link (for example ?utm_source=x), so we know which posts bring readers in. We don't ask for your name or anything else.
Who holds it
Our mailing list lives with Kit (kit.com), the email service that stores subscribers and sends each issue. Kit records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, which helps us see what readers find useful. Kit's own privacy policy is at kit.com/privacy. We don't sell, rent or share the list with anyone else.
Confirming and leaving
We use double opt-in: nothing is sent until you tap Confirm in the first email. Every issue has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click takes you off the list. You can also email us to be removed or to have your address deleted.
This website
The site has no ads and no analytics or tracking scripts of its own. It is hosted on GitHub Pages and loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so GitHub and Google receive the standard technical details any website request carries, such as your IP address. Their policies cover what they do with them.
Affiliate links
Some links to eBay listings are affiliate links, marked as such. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. eBay sees that you came from us; we don't see who you are.
